Senior Resource Geologist

SRK Consulting has established a new country practice in Skellefteå, Sweden, providing consultancy services to the mining sector across the Nordic region.

Essential Requirements:

SRK Sweden currently has a vacancy for a Senior Resource Geologist. The ideal candidate should have a post graduate degree in Mining Geology or a related discipline and be able to demonstrate a sound understanding of ore geology, the preliminary economic appraisal of mining projects and have experience in the collection and interpretation of exploration data, geological modelling, statistics and geostatistics and generation of Mineral Resource Estimates reported in accordance with international reporting codes. Chartered status of a recognised professional association would be an advantage.

Knowledge of international Mineral Resource and Reserve Reporting Codes
High degree of computer literacy
Competence in one or more mining/geological software packages such as Datamine, Surpac, Gemcom, Micromine, or Vulcan
Experience signing off on Mineral Resource Estimates as a Competent / Qualified Person
Excellent communication, technical report writing skills
High level of numeracy
Competence in project management

This position involves working in multi-disciplinary teams on a wide range of projects and commodities, including feasibility studies and due diligence mandates. Overseas travel forms part of the role and knowledge of a foreign language would therefore be an advantage.
